Our Community.
Our Charities
Supporting charities and social enterprises across our territory is at the heart of Hub North Scotland’s community and ESG activities.
C-Fine also provides skills development programmes including a partnership with HMP Grampian in Peterhead where they work with prisoners ahead of release and after release to equip them to move on to a crime free lifestyle.
Hub North staff have also worked at the Tullos community garden and community centre in Aberdeen with volunteer days gardening and painting.
Among the local groups we have helped recently is the Step Up Dance group in Aberdeen who represented Scotland at the Dance World Cup in Portugal in June 2023.
The wider hub programme has also helped local charities through the Hub Community Foundation (HCF) which has raised money through the financing of projects across all five hub companies.
The two organisations in the Hub North Scotland territory who benefited from HCF help are Aberdeen Foyer, who support people to independent living, learning and work, and the Station House Media Unit (SMHU) in Aberdeen, which supports disadvantaged communities through media development.
HCF continues to support Aberdeen Foyer and by the end of its current programme will have donated more than £250,000 to the organisation.
“I love working on this site and watching the buildings take shape. It is going to be some place when it is finished.”
