North Infrastructure Commission

The North infrastructure Commission (NIC) is a collaborative pioneering initiative between Hub North Scotland, our clients and our Territory Partnering Board to create a programmed approach to future investment across our region.

It has established a co-ordinated 10-year community infrastructure plan for the north, which will meet local, regional and national policy objectives and help shape a well-being economy with sustainable and inclusive growth for all.

The NIC has identified the potential for £3.5 billion of capital investment across our territory and is concentrating on three main workstreams under the direction of the Territory Partnering Board:

• Place
• Construction delivery
• Net Zero Carbon

Front runner projects have been identified and initiatives include a unique energy transition programme between clients and our supply chain at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

This partnership approach allows individual organisations to combine their needs and assets for the benefits of the communities they serve. By working together strengthens both the opportunities and the outcomes.

“I love working on this site and watching the buildings take shape. It is going to be some place when it is finished.”
